Shinhye is a second year Ph.D. student in the Second Language Studies (SLS) program at Michigan State University. Before joining the program in 2013, Shinhye received her B.A. in History Education and English Education from Hongik University (Seoul, Korea) in 2010. She studied in the Department of English Education at Ewha Womans University (Seoul, Korea) and earned her M.A. degree in English Education in 2012. She worked as a research assistant during her master’s studies and participated in various research projects on language assessment, L2 reading and writing, and language policy. She is now working as a research assistant to Dr. Paula Winke for language assessment in the SLS program.

Research Interest

Shinhye’s research interests include, but not limited to the following areas: language assessment and test practices, speech production, and young English Language Learners.
